Technical Product Owner - Agile

Responsibilities for technical product owner

• Work with internal and external customer experience teams to translate requirements into creative, effective and fit-for-purpose customer journeys
• Produce recommendations that reflect an understanding of key business drivers including adherence to regulatory and mandatory processes, risk, cost and timescales
• Successful product creation, development, delivery and ongoing operation
• Exceptional customer and colleague engagement and satisfaction
• Successful delivery of projects to agreed metrics
• Recognition as the go-to expert for your product, delivering insight and knowledge that helps us delight our colleagues and customers
• Define video functionality and UX per platform based on data driven decisions to drive user engagement for our customers and demonstrate business value for our stakeholders
• Be the master of built, measure and learn cycle across the video platform products
• Master of Agile development and understand when to apply waterfall methods to capture and deliver requirements
• Drive and own backlog management

• Collaborate with product owners from dependent UI applications to create aligned scrum team sprint goals and ensure services are delivered for UI use within a workable timeframe

• Work closely with technical analyst and lead developer and liaise with technical project managers to create all stories in Jira

• Manage/prioritize team Jira backlog and facilitate backlog refinement ceremonies

• Collaborate with technical manager, technical analyst, and scrum master to select and prepare candidate stories for sprint planning ceremonies

• Participate in all Agile ceremonies as the voice of the product and support team in meeting committed sprint goals

• Communicate team story completion status and blockers in daily scrum of scrums meeting

• Act as product team point of contact for questions related to project work status from project managers and other product owners

• Coordinate Jira story dependencies with technical analysts from related product teams

• Assemble functional solution design documents by project per quarterly release and obtain architecture approval prior to document hand-off to technical project managers

• Facilitate software release nights and act as technical team coordinator during application check-out

• Play a key role in ongoing team process improvement within the Agile framework

Qualifications for technical product owner

• Knowledge of modern enterprise systems and their design
• Several years’ experience in information technology and of a product manager or product owner role
• The ability to build customer and stakeholder relationships
• Experience of working in multinational teams
• The ability to communicate with development teams also on a technical level
• A good understanding of software design and architecture
