We seek a Test Engineer with a background in a manufacturing or production environment to join our Test Engineering Team! This role will be critical in evaluating the performance of new battery materials developed at Sepion. We are a hands-on team that rolls its sleeves up to solve difficult problems, and we constantly strive to meet high expectations for test quality and timeliness. Candidates will be expected to have a background in electrical engineering or related disciplines, including experience testing and working with electrical devices. Candidates will be expected to understand the hazards that come with such devices, and how to execute tests safely. In-house tools and databases will be used to execute the duties of this role, and candidates will be expected to contribute to developing new tools to streamline and automate our testing infrastructure. Candidates will be expected to be detail-oriented, using documentation, trackers, SOPs, and similar tools to organize and align with other company stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Test battery cells, including building test apparatus, connecting batteries to the tester, writing test protocols, and executing tests
Creating plots from raw battery test data for collaboration with other team stakeholders
Manage project-specific cell testing for internal customers
Root cause and correct reported or discovered problems with tests
Develop and implement systems for automating and tracking tests
Prioritize work based on company priorities and feedback from stakeholders
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, battery performance, test operations, test infrastructure, and manufacturing, to understand test requirements and address any technical challenges.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Clearly communicate issues, timelines, and new processes to test team and internal stakeholders

Basic knowledge of relevant engineering (ME/EE/others) is required (BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred)
Experience in a high throughput test lab, manufacturing setting, or similar product focused environment. Experience in battery testing lab or shipping product [KO1] is desired but not required.
Familiarity with some of the following skills: test equipment, safety, troubleshooting, electronics, written SOPs, databases, scripting/coding (Python is preferred)[KO2] , IT.
Detail oriented, well organized, solution driven, and able to communicate effectively to other team members.
Ability to understand task and project priorities as well as keep team updated on progress.

Compensation Information
This position is open for all levels of experience within the scope of responsibilities, and salary is dependent on experience.
Annual Rate Range: $90,000 - $140,000
