CNC Tool Room Machinist

Please note, this job is on-site in Johnson City, TN.

We are a manufacturing facility established in 2002 located in Johnson City, Tennessee. We primarily deal with short run production, stamping and making precision tooling components. We are looking for a responsible, drug-free, family-oriented person to become a vital member of our team. This is a NOT a machine operator position, only skilled candidates need to apply.

CNC Tool Room Machinist Responsibilities

· Understand manufacturing requirements and ensure they are met.

· Determine the required machining process needed to produce the final part as reflected per print.

· Familiarity with a wide variety of metals/materials, and their machinability.

· Ability to program with G-Code and/or CAM to program CNC milling and turning centers.

· Select appropriate tooling, speeds/feeds to achieve the required machined features per print.

· Check parts routinely to verify tolerances, using calipers and micrometers as well as other inspection equipment.

· Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and safe as much as possible.

CNC Tool Room Machinist Requirements

· Able to interpret blueprints and precision drawings.

· CAD experience is a plus.

· Mechanical aptitude

· Able to troubleshoot CNC programs for errors and issues.

· Able to set up and operate CNC equipment throughout Tool Shop

· Strong mathematical background.

· Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements.

· Minimum of 5 years+ experience machining or completed a Toolmaker or Machinist apprenticeship.

· Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.

Pay Rate

· Pay rate depends on work experience and education

Work Week

· Four ten-hour days

· Day Shift (6am to 4:30pm)
