JOB TITLE: Director of Technology


REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer and/or Designee


CLASSIFICATION: Classified/Exempt

THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)


Reporting to the Chief Operating Office, the Director of Technology is responsible for activities, which include the integration, coordination, operation, procurement, installation, maintenance, and budget planning for all data, and voice technologies used by iLEAD California. This individual will direct the planning, coordination, and integration of all voice and data technologies used throughout iLEAD California to support facilitating, learning and iLEAD California business activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Create and facilitate Professional Learning opportunities for members of iLEAD Schools Technology Team that articulate the culture of iLEAD Schools and promote and support technical growth.

  • Provide opportunities for reflection, coaching and mentoring the iLEAD Schools Technology Team members through reflective supervision, regular coaching and annual written evaluations.

  • Collaborate with iCA Directors, board members, and other internal and external organizations to ensure the technology department and other leaders have the resources necessary to carry out the mission and vision of iLEAD Schools. Provide regular technology department updates to all iLEAD organization directors and boards.

  • Share knowledge and develop team capacities to strengthen understanding of best practices in technology and stay current with industry trends.

  • Implement and maintain an IT security strategy that keeps pace with technology changes and ensures the organization’s information and systems are secure.

  • Oversee the selection and management of IT service providers optimizing the mix of in-house and outsourced services.

  • Demonstrate a belief in iLEAD Schools mission that all students will learn and successfully master the content and skills necessary for advanced post-secondary education.

  • Will sign, adhere, and monitor the iLEAD Schools Non-Disclosure Agreement regarding Company property, intellectual and Confidential Information (as defined by the NDA).

  • Exhibit exemplary leadership qualities on a daily basis by exhibiting leadership, a growth mindset, a positive approach, professionalism, confidentiality supporting the iLEAD Schools Mission, Vision & Values.

  • Provide ongoing support and actively collaborate with all iLEAD educational partners, Schools leaders and employees to ensure that the mission, vision, values and philosophy of iLEAD Schools is clearly understood and carried out.

  • Perform other responsibilities as defined by the designated supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer)

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.

  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • May encounter outdoor elements: high (>90)/low (<60) temperatures, precipitation and/or wind.

  • Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions.

  • Ability to supervise/manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations.

  • Reading detailed documentation and analyzing data sets.

  • Writing professionally, both by hand and utilizing computer software.

  • Speaking in public settings including making public presentations to large and small groups.

  • Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 10 years of professional work experience in Information Technology, including five in a leadership role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

  • Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Thrive in a collaborative, team based and fast-paced environment.

  • Be passionate and supportive of mission and vision as well as have a strong desire to make a difference for the future of all iLEAD Schools.
