Fractional CIO / IT Executive Advisor

IT Leadership Transition Support – FQHC


Hackley Community Care, a 300-employee Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Michigan, is seeking an experienced healthcare IT executive to provide fractional CIO and advisory support during an upcoming IT leadership transition.

The organization’s long-standing IT Director has completed an internal evaluation of current systems and operations. We are now seeking an independent external IT leader to provide executive-level validation, strategic guidance, and recruitment support as we prepare for this transition.


Scope of Engagement: The selected advisor will support executive leadership with:

  • Independent validation of IT risk posture and operational readiness
  • Identification of gaps between the current environment and FQHC IT best practices
  • Guidance regarding IT leadership structure and role design
  • Support for IT Leadership recruitment and candidate evaluation
  • Advisory support throughout the leadership transition process


Ideal Background: Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Former or current FQHC / Community Health Center IT executive experience
  • Senior healthcare IT leadership experience (CIO or Director level)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare cybersecurity, compliance, and operational risk
  • Experience supporting IT organizational transitions and executive hiring efforts
  • Ability to translate technical issues into clear executive-level guidance


Engagement Structure:

  • Fractional / advisory engagement
  • Flexible structure with the potential for increased involvement during key phases
  • Anticipated engagement period: early Summer through early Fall
