JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Supervisor will assist ECE Director by supporting the ECE staff implementing a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant curriculum within the guidelines of program policies and performance standards.

REPORTS TO:
The Program Supervisor directly reports to the Program Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • BA or AA in Early Childhood Education
  • 3 years’ experience in ECE Administration
  • Complete module trainings at www.dcyftraining.com
  • TB Test
  • Merit background check and finger print if applicable
  • Current Food Handlers Permit
  • Current CPR , First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens certified
  • Maintains a current STARS/MERIT training (10 hrs.) annually
  • Registered in MERIT (https://apps.dcyf.wa.gov/MERIT )
  • Safe Sleep (Complete it here: www.dcyftraining.com)
  • Child Care Basics (Complete 30 hrs. here: www.cdastars.com )

  • Assist staff in observations of children. Assist in conference forms and individual child information for conferences. Assist in conferences when necessary and staff need support. Support parent goals set with staff for their child.
  • Monitor teachers in maintaining accurate up to date documentation, child files and lesson plans: provide weekly report to ECE Director: Ensure teachers lesson plans are developed and posted at the beginning of the week including children’s objectives, key language words, and children’s interests incorporated into the curriculum: Support and train on the implementation of the Creative Curriculum.
  • Monitor classrooms daily to ensure quality activities and of a supportive environment. Support environmental changes with resources and materials.
  • Document monthly classroom documentations with the ECE director and discuss observations with the ECE director on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in maintaining class ratio’s as per licensing guidelines and scheduling staff as needed on a daily basis.
  • Monitor accident reports and inform ECE director of any incident reports immediately.
  • Ensure that child car site is clean, safe, and meets licensing requirements.
  • Provide input to the ECE Director for staff evaluations. Be involved in the hiring/interview process.
  • Develop and monitor food menu and support the “family style” meals.
  • Ensure professionalism and high program quality
  • Foster teamwork and cooperation among staff
  • Attend program and agency staff meetings and trainings/supporting the Director.
  • Other related duties as assigned by ECE director
