Mortgage Loan Operations Trainee

Job Description

To gain foundational knowledge and skills related to 1st Signature Lending's loan production operations. In this role, you will learn the file flow and structure of our lending products and operations in order to move into a different department and position within the company. During this training time, your primary responsibility includes timely, accurate processing, verification, packaging and submitting of data and documents for a variety of mortgage loan programs. It also includes accurate entry of data into the Encompass system and validating information provided by various parties. This role is one of support, ensuring high quality loan preparation in a timely manner. Once you have successfully understood the processes and are able to demonstrate your proficiency in these areas, you will be considered for advancement to various departments within the company based on available job positions at the time.

Responsibilities:

• Able to obtain and review required loan documentation

• Order credit verification and third-party services for entry into Encompass

• Verifies data and document for accuracy and completeness

• Follow up and collect missing documents or signatures

• ***Review purchase contracts for dates, notes and signatures

• Review appraisal and title documentation

• Prepare and organize loan documents for review and approval

• Work with automated underwriting systems (DU/LP/GUS)

• Set and maintain proper expectations with all parties on the loan

• Effectively manage loan pipeline at various volume levels

• Submit mortgage loan files to be reviewed, disclosed and closed

• Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved

• Maintain strong knowledge and adherence to State/Federal regulations to maintain loan file compliance

• Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or as company priorities dictate

Requirements:

• Prior Mortgage Lending Experience

• Positive attitude

• Maintain confidentiality

• Efficient time management skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize several tasks under specific time constraints

• Work independently and as a team

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
