ABOUT THE PRIDE CHAMBER

Founded on the values of integrity, inclusion, community, and economic opportunity, The Pride Chamber serves as a resource for small businesses and large corporations, as well as LGBTQ-owned businesses, community members, and allies. We are one of four LGBTQ chambers of commerce in Florida contributing efforts and growth strategies to the business community and the business equality movement.

Position Summary: President & CEO

Description: Full-Time President & CEO (CEO)

Reports to: Board President

Time: Flexible 9am-5pm, Monday Friday

The ED must be a confident, forward-thinking, energetic leader. The ED serves as the primary external representative for The Pride Chamber and guides the strategic vision for the ongoing growth and evolution of the organization. As a strong relationship builder, the ED is responsible for maintaining relationships with community partners and strategic corporate sponsors, and must be adept at navigating the complex interactions between small businesses, large corporations, and the civic community, as well as in diverse communities.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out the Organization's mission and vision.

Maintain external relations and communication.

Program administration and member relations.

Finance, fundraising and organizational management.

Day to day organizational activities.

General operational and administrative duties.

Marketing and development.

Programs, events and partner relations.

Membership management.

Required Skills/Professional Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

A bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) is required; masters degree preferred.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in business operations and/or non-profit management (in addition to above), as well as in demonstrated leadership positions, including organizational/staff management, financial management and/or Board relations.

Organizational Management Skills:

Strong administrative and organizational abilities including planning, delegating and task facilitation. Managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, time management and meeting deadlines is an essential skill requirement for this position.

Leadership Abilities

Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills to collaborate with and motivate staff, board members, committee members, and other volunteers.

Ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy in wide variety of situations

Significant experience in leading strategic business or membership development initiatives. Critical thinking and analytical skills required.

Must exhibit an ability to work independently, exercising a resourcefulness and entrepreneurial spirit.

Relationship Cultivation/Building:

Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet needs of diverse populations.

Demonstrated interest in the advancement of the LGBTQ business community and in building key partnerships with community leaders, corporate representatives and the NGLCC.

Familiarity with and knowledge of the various stakeholders in the local LGBTQ community.

Communication Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, including creative writing, editing, business correspondence, listening, presentation and public speaking skills.

Ability to convey a vision of the Pride Chambers strategic future to staff, Board, members, volunteers and the business community.

Demonstrated experience in communications and integrated marketing, including website content, management, email marketing and social media.

Technology Skills:

High level of general technical skills, Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools, Quickbooks and/or other relevant software.

Understanding of computers, devices, audio/visual equipment and software applications pertinent to the position.

Working Conditions and Compensation:

The ED will usually work in an office environment, or from home as needed.

Flexible work schedule, approximately 9am-5pm, Monday Friday, with frequent evenings/weekends, some travel.

Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and market conditions, plus bonus, PTO, paid holidays, and phone allowance.

Membership Mnagement:

Assist members with individual needs as they arise

Make connections and introductions

Find resources

Research specific needs

Maintain and update membership database and directory listings

Participate in membership development and community relations activities, including events, meetings, calls, and networking.

Work with membership committee on implementation of membership development and retention strategies, and ensuring value by continually evaluating and improving member benefits.

Coordinate and follow up on all communications in a professional and thorough manner.

Prepare membership reports and explore ways to improve retention.

Compensation

- Salary Range: $60k to $75,000 per annum based on experience.
- Annual Bonus: 5% of annual salary, tied to performance review.
