Summary of Key Objectives

Timely and efficiently provides support for the organization’s enterprise level Network, Server and systems for the technology products and business needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

Hardware, Software and User Administration

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Greatland’s virtual and physical environments
  • Monitors system performance and uses standard tools, creates baselines, plans capacity, and tunes systems to achieve required business reliability and performance
  • Administers Active Directory and related services, including Group Policy, NTFS, DNS, and DHCP
  • Installs server hardware, applications and networking components.
  • Manages and maintains the company’s Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Manages and maintains host, network, and application monitoring systems. Develops alerts and configures recovery procedures.
  • Provides advanced end-user technical support for internal network and remote employees.
  • Makes recommendations to the design, installation and configuration of system hardware and software.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge and skills to stay abreast of advancements in server technology.
  • Sets up and maintains corporate printers and fax machines.
  • Research hardware and software tools required for IT and development infrastructure; works with vendors to select solutions and provides necessary support.
  • Deploys software applications, as needed, and tracks user licensing.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for all technical tasks, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitors the Help Desk system and works assigned tickets to completion. Performs problem diagnostics, resolution and follow-up.

Network Administration

  • Manages network resources and uses monitoring and alert tools to notify appropriate users in case of outages.
  • Documents network layouts, procedures, and policies.
  • Installs and maintains firewall devices and related network equipment.
  • Configures routers, switches, wireless systems, and firewalls.
  • Responsible for the implementation and support of Pure Storage SAN solutions, ensuring high performance, protection and availability

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent level of education and five years of technical experience with applicable technical certifications.
  • VMWare Certified Professional, Microsoft 365 Administrator, or Microsoft Azure Administrator certification is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to configure and manage:
    1. Server OS (i.e. Microsoft), workstation OS, IIS, routing, LAN/WAN and related network systems.
    2. VMWare vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon.
    3. Microsoft 365 Suite
    4. Cloud technologies (i.e. Azure, UCaaS, etc.)
    5. PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours.

Position Travel Requirements

10% travel required to serve the IT needs in all Greatland offices.

FLSA Status

Salary exempt position: not eligible for overtime pay.

Typical Work Schedule

Normal business hours, Monday through Friday.

Peak Work Time Requirements

Some off-hour work may be necessary to deploy technology changes or major system issues. Regular after hours on-call rotation to respond to system alerts, monitor issues and respond to urgent user issues.

Working Conditions

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed using standard office equipment.

Scope of Accountability

This role does not have direct reports.
