Project Manager - Civil Construction

We have been retained by our client, a growing Commercial General Contractor in the Detroit, MI area, to find a Project Manager. This role involves managing a diverse range of civil and highway/roadway construction projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Duties:

• Lead project teams in delivering high-quality civil/highway/roadway projects through effective scheduling, cost management, and safety practices.
• Foster strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, embodying key values such as tenacity and pride.
• Oversee financial aspects, including budgeting, invoicing, and negotiation of change orders.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards, safety plans, and contractual EEO/Affirmative action requirements.
• Manage multiple projects and teams, with a focus on self-performed excavation and site utility work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 5+ years of relevant construction experience.
• Proven experience in managing self-performed work within the civil/highway/roadway construction market.
• Strong computer and software skills, including familiarity with Project Management software and tools like HCSS/HeavyJob, P6, Microsoft Project, Procore.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Experience with a general contractor is preferred, along with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
