Construction Superintendent

Thakkar | DC is headquartered in Houston, TX, and has been designing and constructing landmark residential and commercial projects in the State of Texas since 2017. The core principles upon which the company was founded place an emphasis on robust engineering and architectural design. Thakkar | DC has an immediate opening for a Construction Superintendent in the greater Houston area. The successful candidate will support our residential and commercial project teams and will be actively involved in projects from the initial stages through project completion. If you excel at managing sub-contractors and maintaining safety and compliance at a construction site, then you might be perfect as our next construction superintendent. Our ideal candidate has 5 years of construction field experience and can supervise all site activities and maintain safety compliance at all times. Responsibilities: • Ability to read, understand, and implement Architectural, Structural engineering, and civil engineering plans • Monitor subcontractors and daily activities on the site ensuring strict adherence to plans and specifications • Complete field reports and update the project schedule as necessary • Maintain communication with the Project Manager on all issues pertaining to the plans • Follow the project schedule to meet completion dates • Understanding the scope of work and ensuring work is completed according to the contract • Understand, follow, and promote job site and company policies and procedures • Inspect work being performed on the project to ensure quality is being achieved • Follows safety regulations and procedures • Identifies and corrects safety violations • Ensures the site is kept clean, safe, and secure at all times Qualifications: • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and time-management skills • Must have a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office software • Possesses a deep understanding of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, permits, construction equipment, material resources, project management principles, and construction methods Compensation: $85,000 base + bonus
