Job Description


Under the direction of the Program Manager I - Pediatric Equity & Special Projects and in collaboration with the Pediatric Medical Director, the Pediatric Initiatives Coordinator performs a variety of administrative functions to support the development, implementation and spread of various pediatric initiatives including but not limited to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) for both children and adults, Early Developmental Screenings and Interventions, and Maternal Depression Screenings. The Pediatric Initiatives Coordinator supports Northeast Valley Health Corporations on-going efforts to provide trauma informed care by participating in learning collaborative(s) and incorporating Resiliency Skills in existing/new trainings.

REPORTS TO: Program Manager I - Pediatric/Health Education Equity - Special Projects

Qualifications:

Minimally a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or related field. Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.

Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and similar.

Basic leadership skills.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.

Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.

Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.

Very effective oral and written communications skills including public speaking experience.

Effective work organization skills.

Ability to work effectively independently and as a team player.

Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.

Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.

Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.

Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision. Self-starter, reliable and dependable.

Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).

Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).

Fluency in Spanish (speaks, translate, read and write).

Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.

Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.

Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
