Description: The Human Centered Design Intern will work alongside and be mentored by Agile5’s highly skilled development team. Successful candidates will assist in designing and implementing innovative solutions on projects vital to Agile5 and our customers. They will be introduced to industry-leading software tools to help troubleshoot issues related to software, develop and implement enhancements, test software, and develop and deploy fixes.

In This Role, You Will:

• Independently and collaboratively analyze research across product or program areas

• Undertake secondary research scans and comparative/competitive analysis using data provided from Google Analytics

• Support generative research (techniques to help define problem space, such as interviews, contextual inquiry, ethnography, data mining) efforts for specified products or small program areas to build deep user understanding and empathy

• Work with design, analytics, product management, customer support to formulate and address research questions

• Help teams cross-functionally by synthesizing and communicating the right information, defining and measuring success

• Apply your knowledge of research methodologies, human factors, the user-centered design process, and statistics to product and service design in an iterative development environment

• Create wireframes for a page by page redesign of a public website

• Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Quantitative survey programming and analysis

  • UX Research for Meeting/Event Planners, Attendees software

  • Knowledge of the federal regulations (good to have)

  • Other duties as assigned

Security Clearance Requirements: None required

Experience Requirements:0-1 years’ conducting user research within a UX team for software/web-based products either through coursework or internships.

Education Requirements: Be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in the study of user experience, design, research, business or related fields; for example, Information Design, Human Factors/HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Sociology OR alternative equivalent project/portfolio experience

Location: Remote work permitted but must be able to meet in the corporate office once a week (Fairmont, WV)

Status/Classification: Full time, W-2 position. No contract to hire.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
