San Luis Valley Health is looking for an Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiopulmonary team. The Exercise Physiologist is responsible and accountable for facilitating, communicating and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient.

What You Need:

• Bachelor Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science and Health Promotion
• RN's interested must have an active RN License
• Respiratory Therapists that are interested must also have an active license

What You'll Do:

• Promote optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the care process and in accordance with the patient care standards, guidelines and CMS requirements.
• Assess the need for and provides education to patient/family after cardiovascular surgeries, and/or Acute Myocardial Infarction or other cardiovascular conditions.
• Assess the need for and provides education to patient with Chronic Bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Bronchitis, other chronic bronchitis, other emphysema, chronic airway obstruction, not elsewhere classified.
• Performs initial evaluation for patients entering the rehab programs.
• Conducts Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation exercise classes.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care according to national standards of care and observe outcomes in accordance with standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to infection control, co-morbidity and exercise prescription writing.
