Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer must develop, implement and execute a Supply Strategy based on market conditions, business/supply chain needs and available resources. He/she must understand client needs and the critical success factors for the business. The individual must apply industry and market knowledge to create sourcing alternatives that lead to competitively advantaged solutions.  He/she also has to understand the various tools in place (total cost of ownership, hypothesis analysis, make vs. buy, insource vs. outsource, etc.) to perform a Value Analysis, as well as being capable of evaluating the risks, including new and creative options.

This individual will be responsible for Capital and Site Services categories.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• • Develop Supply Strategies according to what’s critical for the Business.
  • Apply Value Analysis and Risk Analysis to get the best response to the Client needs.
  • Use Negotiation Skills to achieve sustainable and win-win agreements.
  • Understand the integration of sourcing, logistics, manufacturing, engineering and technical elements in the supply chain process.
  • Understand the supplier’s business and industry in which they are evolving.
  • Apply P&L functional processes (e.g., BRRP) and system technologies (e.g. SAP)
  • Create and launch RFIs, RFQs and RFPs in support of procurement strategy and selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements by understanding and applying legal fundamentals.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships by aligning expectations, identifying opportunities to create value and identifying and managing risk.
  • Understand the Client's issue and develop the best solution within their budget cash flow and timeline available.
  • Learn market forces ruling the manufacturers of various segments of capital goods to understand costs trends of key suppliers of equipment used in your Company.
  • Create and maintain external networking capable of bringing information about new and creative solutions to common problems of other Companies with similar, non-competing businesses.

The following is required for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration.
• Good knowledge of Quality tools
• 3+ years’ experience as a Buyer with a chemical background.

The following is preferred for this role:

• Advanced English and Spanish.
• SAP experience
• Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert
