Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and proven leader in the hotel housekeeping world. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible to lead and train Room Attendants, Public Space Attendants, and Linen Runners to ensure that all areas meet established brand standards at Delta Hotels by Marriott.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Housekeeping Manager with other tasks as assigned.
  • Perform or assist housekeeping staff with cleaning duties as necessary.
  • Primary operation of the Housekeeping Department on a day-to-day basis
  • Anticipate guests needs, prior to arrival, and exceed guest expectations.
  • Assist with Inventory.
  • Verify and report status and/or discrepancies of rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
  • Prepare employee daily work assignments, projects and tasks.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner to include linen handling for banquet, kitchen and restaurant departments.
  • Complete daily written inspections for each associate and provide feedback to management about the inspections.
  • Update, record, and maintain lost and found and respond/follow-up to guest requests for missing items.
  • Inspect the cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and public areas to ensure that they meet specifications and established Brand standards.
  • Ensure that all Self-inspectors are adhering to the self-inspection policies.
  • Assist in training all newly employed employees, implementing operational, and brand standards for Housekeeping, Laundry and Public Space.
  • Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary.
  • Reports employee performance and or problems to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Check and maintain equipment to ensure that it is in working order. Report any equipment of issue Property Operations.
  • Communicate throughout the day with Front Office and other departments to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the work environment.
  • Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care.
  • Handles high-pressure work conditions; including being open to change.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for personal growth and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior hotel housekeeping and laundry management experience of 2-3 years required.
  • High school education, GED, and relevant training and experience preferred.
  • Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be personable and be able to communicate with guests, employees and co-workers.

  • Must possess basic computational ability to include Microsoft Office, Opera, etc.
  • Possess great organizational and team building skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation standards
