Business Tax Director, R&D Tax Credits & Incentives (St. Paul or White Bear Lake)

In this role, you will: 

• Build-out, lead, manage and grow our new R&D tax credit service offering
• Act as firm R&D tax credit subject matter expert and strategist internally within the firm and externally to clients
• Provide tax expertise, advise, and support helping clients identify, qualify for, document, maximize, and claim federal and state tax credits and incentives with an initial focus on R&D tax credits
• Research tax issues
• Spearhead and implement R&D tax incentive projects by orchestrating the work, and participating in the day-to-day project implementation to deliver on client’s tax projects
• Market Redpath's new R&D tax credit services with CPA firms building relationships to generate new outsourced business
• Develop and sustain deep client relationships utilizing networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify new business opportunities with current and prospective clients

The successful candidate should have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Advanced degree and/or certification such as MST, LLM Tax, JD, or CPA 
• Minimum of 6 years experience in Accounting, Audit or Tax in public accounting or consulting
• At least 10 years technical and leadership experience with R&D tax credits including IRS regulations, R&D credit case law and relevant court cases
• (Preferred but not required) Experience with other credits and incentives such as IRC 179D, IRC 45L, Energy Incentives / Credits, Transfer Pricing, and/or Cost Segregation Studies
• Demonstrated proven record of success as a tax technical team leader generating new business, proposal writing, delivering and project managing engagements, and collaborating with firm leaders
  
• Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  
• Ability to travel to client locations
