Distro Assembly Team Leader - Medium Build - 1st Shift

As a Distro Assembly Team Leader, you will lead and guide our teams to meet/exceed customer expectations & achieve strategic and aspirational growth plans while following our values & guiding principles. In this role you will get to lead a team of production associates to execute production, improve and implement effective manufacturing processes, utilize concepts of lean & 6 sigma to drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, while working to achieve key performance metrics and meeting/exceeding customer expectations. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

• Help Supervisor to conduct safety and training programs.
• Lead and motivate individual and team development in the Distro Assembly department.
• Arrange and control daily team activities to ensure smooth workflow, quality production, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery.
• Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
• Partner with area Supervisor in determining weekly production goals and alignment of hourly workforce.
• Provide input regarding team and individual performance.
• Provide feedback to supervisor and HR department in cases of progressive discipline.
• Drive positive recognition in work area.
• Help Supervisor in tracking attendance and timecard accuracy of hourly associates.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations and standards.
• Assist with inventory, packaging, shipping/receiving, and general facility maintenance as needed.
• Projects, in partnership with Supervisor, staffing for daily and future production needs.
• Be a change agent within the department driving continuous improvement & waste elimination.
• Hold assembly team members accountable to established Trystar work rules and policies.
• Support with mentoring hourly associate in work area and facilitating problem solving.
• Manage production processes by utilizing MRP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to identify manufacturing defects and escalate issues through proper channel for resolution.
• Coach and train assembly team on proper procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy, ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of MRP (Epicor preferred) system.
• Read and Understand Schematics and One Line Diagram’s.
• Production line experience in fast-paced, continuous improvement changing environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Bi-lingual English / Spanish

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree preferred

• One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

• Excellent people skills with a proven ability in supervising, coaching, and training employees

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.

• Ability to adapt & thrive in a fast-paced/high growth work environment.

• General understanding of inventory control procedures.
