Radiology Scheduler’s Responsibilities

Obtain demographic and insurance information from the provider’s office.
Coordinate with the OR scheduler if procedures require full sedation.
Assign each scheduled procedure an account number, ensure precertification/authorizations have been completed, and check for ABN.
Resolve and answer patient concerns and questions on walk-in and scheduled appointments.
Courteously answer telephone calls and route the calls or record accurate messages for the appropriate personnel.

Radiology Scheduler’s Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Certified Patient Accounts Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred.
Previous work experience in meeting and communicating with the public is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software packages is required.
Essential knowledge of tests, procedures, terminology, and insurance is required.
