Position Summary:

The La Kretz Innovation Campus (LKIC) is a 60,000 sq ft campus that featuring an Advanced Prototyping Center, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Customer Engagement Laboratory, training classrooms, and 30,000 sq ft of coworking space including desk space, offices, conference rooms, a state-of-the-art board room, and an amphitheater.  

As a member of LACI’s  Campus Management Team, the AV Coordinator collaborates closely with other Campus Management Team members to support excellent overall  customer service for LKIC members, visitors and event customers.  This role will primarily be responsible for maintaining, upgrading,  and coordinating AV technology  setup and break down of campus  audiovisual technology equipment and software used in the  coworking space and during campus events. When not supporting AV activities, the AV Technology Coordinator will collaborate closely with other team members to provide event production and  campus operations support.   The successful employee must navigate multiple tasks while creating strong systems and processes that align to results-oriented outcomes.  LACI provides a rapidly changing environment, and the successful candidate will appreciate and thrive in this culture

What You’ll Do:

  • Campus Audiovisual and Technology Support: Oversee technical AV needs for all Campus conference rooms, training classrooms, and virtual meetings (ex: Zoom and live stream). Manage and update inventory of AV and other related tech equipment. Maintain quality and consistent AV experience in all conference and training classrooms, including immediately addressing any technical issues. Support tech needs for campus VOIP phone system
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors: Develop documentation and training for LKIC members and visitors on how to use AV equipment. Ensure tier 1 technology issues are quickly brought to vendors’ attention and resolved according to our target customer service level.
  • Campus Event Support: Oversee set-up and operating AV equipment for events and conferences. Participate in walkthroughs to prepare for events with the events and campus management teams. Coordinate event AV day-of setup, in collaboration with event customers, and ensure backup technology options are available. Ensure event AV breakdown is completed on time and equipment is in good working order. Support event production and execution as needed (ex: porter, registration, greeter, etc.) 
  • Campus Operations Support: Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure an excellent LKIC member, visitor and event customer experience through proactive problem-solving and customer engagement. Staff the reception area when reception staff need to step away. Support campus management team with onboarding and offboarding staff and members. Train other campus management team members to serve as cross-trained, backup  AV technology and event support. Monitor tickets in OfficeRnD and run metric reports to ensure we are meeting our target customer service level.

Requirements:

Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in audiovisual technology
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users, including non-technical users
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Experience with AV for conferences and events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Asana, Zoom, and Salesforce
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Integrity and professionalism 
  • Ability to remain calm and focused 

Work Requirements

  • Must work onsite from Downtown LA office.
  • Ability to work some evenings as needed (minimal)
  • Ability to lift or move heavy objects (<50 lbs)

Position Details:

This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.

Salary Range: Coordinator Range $55-64k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
