Chief Marketing Officer (Performance Marketing)

With a focus on performance-driven strategies and a diverse portfolio of direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, we seek a highly skilled and experienced CMO of Performance Marketing to join our leadership team. This role is hands-on, we are looking for an experienced marketer that can push digital boundaries and take projects to the next level. We are searching for someone who will be a true contributor to our legacy, inspiring the team on a day-to-day basis.

The CMO will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overall performance marketing strategy for our portfolio of brands. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for driving growth, maximizing ROI, and enhancing brand visibility across digital channels. brands. You should possess a balanced combination of creativity, collaboration skills, and problem-solving abilities. You also bring proven experience in guiding full-funnel campaigns, emphasizing performance, throughout the entire process, from campaign development, both strategically and tactically, to flawless execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the performance marketing vision and strategy for the entire brand portfolio.
  • Drive a digital roadmap designed to significantly impact customer acquisition and retention results.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to monitor and optimize key e-commerce metrics, such as conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and lifetime value.
  • Own and report on marketing KPIs for all brands.
  • Lead digital marketing efforts across paid social, paid search, SEO, programmatic, affiliate, video, and cross-channel within a direct response environment.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making processes to optimize marketing performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Leverage extensive experience in direct-to-consumer marketing to create and implement strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Manage marketing efforts across a diverse portfolio of brands, ensuring a cohesive yet tailored approach for each brand.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of digital marketing channels, including but not limited to paid media, social media, search, email, and display advertising.
  • Oversee the development and execution of creative and innovative digital campaigns.
  • Implement testing and measurement strategies to continuously improve campaign performance.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience leading full-funnel marketing campaigns with expertise in performance and lifecycle.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, DTC strategy, creative, and e-commerce metrics.
  • Multi-brand experience: either conglomerate, fund, portfolio, or brand accelerator.
  • Experience managing a large team, with a strong ability to inspire and coach, and a history of hiring, managing, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to utilize qualitative and quantitative data to develop actionable insights, and a thorough understanding of cross-channel attribution.
  • Ability to think strategically across the short, medium, and long term, while obsessing over the details, and a love of investigating evolving media trends and technology to serve your brand.
  • Thoughtful, collaborative leadership with strong communication skills.
  • Experience overseeing a large marketing budget, and holistically managing spend allocation across channels.
  • Direct response and branded campaign experience.
  • Extremely analytical and proven experience building and managing marketing analytics and business intelligence teams.
