This position will work afternoons between 3pm - 8pm throughout the week. We do not work on Sundays!

Job Description

We're on the lookout for a proactive and friendly Loss Prevention Specialist to join us and play a key role in cultivating a positive and inviting atmosphere for our employees and esteemed customers. The ideal candidate will take charge of providing excellent customer service during the returns process, while also monitoring the store for potential theft and taking steps to prevent it. This position hinges on top-notch interpersonal abilities, keen attention to detail, and a dedicated drive to elevate the overall shopping journey.


What You Will Do:

  • Process customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Confront individuals or groups who have stolen from the store to help prevent theft.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to returns and exchanges.
  • Monitor the store for potential theft, including observing customers and reviewing security footage.
  • Implement security measures, including bag checks and inventory audits to prevent theft.
  • Work with store leadership and law enforcement to investigate and report incidents of theft.
  • Maintain accurate records of all returns and exchanges.
  • Train employees on theft prevention and returns processes.
  • Provide "No Trespassing" notices as needed.
  • Help sign customers up for our Loyalty Reward Program..
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail, theft prevention and/or Customer Service role is a plus.
  • Proactive, autonomous personality with the ability of assertiveness in specific situations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, friendly and approachable demeanor, engaging customers of all ages effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform thorough bag checks and verify receipts accurately.
  • Patience in handling customer concerns and difficult situations.
  • Basic computer skills for assisting customers with email sign-ups.
  • Previous customer service experience.

What You Will Experience:

Work is generally performed in a retail store environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Use a computer to enter data
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs
  • Perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement
  • Feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
  • Move objects up to 10 lbs. (Must be able to frequently move/lift objects up to 25 lbs. in weight. May occasionally move/lift an object up to 50 lbs. in weight)
