Job Description

Job Title: Senior IT Business Analyst
Department: IT Department
Reports to: IT Director, Applications Development
Location: Westport Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri
Supervises: None
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hybrid Work Schedule; 3 days in office, 2 days from home

Position Summary: The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with Business Functions to understand and analyze how core business processes interact with the ERP systems for Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. Inc. and identifies key opportunities for improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with business users and project teams to collaborate on and deliver the right solutions for Rawlings as a whole. Participates in strategy discussions to understand and capture high level business needs. Serves as a conduit between business, IT, and external partners.
  • Experience providing technical oversight or managing small-medium size/low-moderate complexity IT projects. Creates accurate estimates for schedules for project development and implementation. Able to estimate individual projects with oversight.
  • Provides best practice recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, performance, and functionality of processes and procedures.
  • Facilitates meetings with business stakeholders to understand business requirements; demonstrates understanding of business needs and recommends design changes.
  • Designs and tests solutions in coordination with development team and business representatives.
  • Creates/documents Business Requirements, As-Is/To-Be process flows, functional specifications, and other documentation as required.
  • Document systems and their interdependencies: Maintain design documents to reflect changes introduced by new implementations or support issues.
  • Act as a liaison between end users and development teams, ensuring that solutions provided support business objectives and meets end users' needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end to end processing is effective and efficient.
  • Drive the quality assurance process by assisting the business to translate business requirements and use cases into test plans and scenarios.
  • Defines integration touchpoints between JD Edwards and other applications.
  • Responds to functional and technical issues, including troubleshooting, issue management and initiates actions with technical support teams as needed.
  • Prepare test data to assist technical resources to debug and troubleshoot issues.
  • Research and submit tickets to Software Vendors’ support for problem and issue resolution.
  • Manages process compliance as appropriate (e.g., internal controls, regulatory requirements, other business process, etc.) including development and delivery of documentation and training material.
  • Adheres to standards in both new and existing software, including purchased packages and in-house development. Follows departmental policies and procedures as well as those for the overall company.
  • Interacts with vendors to establish relationships useful for support and troubleshooting.
  • This position may require occasional travel.
  • This position may require support during non-working hours.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology or related field of study or equivalent related work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working with IT related systems/projects using a variety of tools and technology performing at an accomplished level required.
  • Business Analyst experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience configuring and supporting JD Edwards Enterprise One (E1) versions 8.9-9.2.
  • Detail-oriented, critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Extensive ERP implementation experience in performing business requirement & fit-gap analysis, prototyping, system configuration, data conversion, integration testing, regression testing and user training & development.
  • Strong functional knowledge in 2+ JDE E1 modules (Distribution, Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales Operations). Create JDE versions and set processing options. Design Menus, UDO’s (Watchlists, Orchestrator solutions, Café1), BIP output, E1 Batch Application and E1 Interactive Applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: Vertex, K-Rise, Canon, SQL, DSI, Varsity, 3rd Party TMS solutions, labeling solutions.
  • Experience creating functional specifications for RICEWF objects, Visio Process Flowcharts, and Testing Use Cases.
  • Ability to identify system issues, determine root causes, and provide solutions as temporary workarounds and permanent fixes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information independently and effectively in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including Managers.
