Technician Mill Control
- Full-Time
POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for (including but not limited to) all aspects of monitoring and controlling the equipment in mill operations assigned to the Concentrator Control Room. The Concentrator consists of a sulfide copper ore crushing, milling, flotation and filtering facility, which includes a Molybdenum Plant. In addition, the Mill Control Room Technician will assist in the supervision of operators assigned to the Mill.
REPORTING TO: Mill Operations Supervisor, Mill Operations Superintendent
COLLABORATING WITH (Key departments, External Groups):
Internal: Processing Operations and Maintenance; including Support Labor Crew
External: Business Services, Human Resources, HSEC and Contractor / Vendor Services (as required)

Internal: Mill Operators (hourly employees)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned (as necessary).
• Promote a safe work culture for employees and contractors.
• Optimize and monitor the equipment associated with the Concentrator through the DCS and on-‐stream analyzer. The equipment includes:
o Grinding Circuits;
o Dust Collectors;
o Cu Flotation;
o Moly Flotation;
o Cu-‐Mo Thickeners;
o Cu Thickeners;
o Filter Plant;
o Tail Thickeners;
o Water systems;
o Air Systems;
o Tailings Dams;
• Control the Grinding circuits to optimize the product to Cu Flotation.
• Apply consistent procedures and methods to maintain operational consistency and optimization.
• Interface effectively with other crews to ensure consistency.
• Accurately and correctly document operational data.
• Monitor systems and alarms to prevent injury, damage, or production losses.
• Maintain effective decision making and prioritization in fast-‐paced, stressful conditions.
• Effectively communicate operational status, concerns, or achievements.
• Alert Operators and/or Processing Maintenance to any unusual events.
• Co-‐supervise the hourly personnel with the Concentrator Supervisor (as required).
• Perform relief duties in the absence of the Concentrator Supervisor.
• Ensure that all guidelines concerning safety and the environment are being adhered to.
• Perform all System for Managing (SFM) activities as per the SFM Controller Behavior Model (as required)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
• Previous Mining experience, with experience working in a Concentrator Operations / Control Room.
• Previous experience working with DCS Control Systems.
• SAP experience.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office / Outlook skills.
Key Competencies / Skills:
• Bachelor degree and/or equivalent experience, certifications in Concentrator Operations or a relevant area would be beneficial
• A minimum of 2 years of operational experience in the mining environment (Mill / Concentrator Control Room).
• Experience with and knowledge of computers and DCS systems and software.
• Ability to make effective contributions using team concept.
• Strong decision making and time management skills.
• Proven ability to operate independently and in crew-‐based teams, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be self-‐motivated.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Able to speak, comprehend, read and write English.
