Position Summary:

The Receptionist will assist visitors and callers to the Food Bank. The Receptionist will provide information regarding the organization and partner agencies to the public, clients and customers. Responsible for accurately routing inquires. The position will also have various tasks in different departments within the Food Bank.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests to the Food Bank
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Provide information to callers
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, will all necessary stationery, and materials (pens, forms, brochures etc.)
  • Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail and deliveries
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges, etc.)
  • Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings as requested
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs
  • Perform other clerical/receptionist duties (e.g. filing, photocopying, faxing, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • High school education
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service mindset

Work Environment:

This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions. In instances of a federal, state, or local declared emergency, FNEFL is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
