145 Project Manager - Building 1

Department: Powerplant Division

Position Type: Regular Full Time – 1st Shift

Reports to: Kraig Stepp – Manager of Powerplant Division

Position Description:

The basic function of the Project Manager (Powerplant) is to manage any customer projects in the shop.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Managing project development from initiation to closure.
• Providing a customer interface point of contact, and liaison with customer representative.
• Continually monitoring and tracking customer projects, and issuing status reports to shop progress and compliance with the established timetable.
• Continually monitoring and tracking customer project material costs and labor hours to oversee project budgets and estimates.
• Continually monitoring and evaluating any customer project issues, and to resolve and/or make recommendations to ensure the project will be delivered on time and within budget.
• Developing and implementing tools and best practices for project management.
• Completing a post project evaluation to determine how well the results were achieved and, if necessary, making changes for future projects.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager of Powerplant Division.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 10 years’ experience working in an aircraft turbine engine shop as a licensed mechanic with at least 5 years being in a supervisory position or higher.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hold a valid US driver’s license
• Knowledgeable of computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
• Available for flexible hours and weekends
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must have good customer service skills

Language Skills:

• Must have the ability to read, write and understand spoken English.
• Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Work performed is primarily in an office environment, with occasional visits to the shop floor.
• The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
