Job Description
The following are the duties and responsibilities for the position of an aircraft maintenance technician:
- Execution of routine and heavy maintenance checks on the supported aircraft, which includes corrosion control and structural repairs.
- Adherence to all maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic.
- Accurate documentation of all maintenance tasks performed on the supported aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and local procedures.
- Compliance with all applicable CFRs and the companies’ policies and procedures outlined in the Company CAMP and Manual System.
- Timely completion of all work assignments and correct disposition of all work forms and documents.
- Completion of the necessary paperwork for part turn-in.
- Assistance to other mechanics with general aircraft maintenance tasks as required.
- Demonstration of good housekeeping procedures to ensure a clean work area.
- Compliance with requirements for control of tools and parts.
- Attendance of training classes and active pursuit of on-the-job training on the aircraft.
- May be required to act as a lead mechanic for short periods in the absence of those personnel (as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor).
- Performance of other duties as assigned by the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements for this position include:
- Heavy aircraft experience on the EMB or Boeing/Airbus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in maintaining aircraft under FAA Part 135 program.
- Current, valid Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree.
- Electrical/Avionics troubleshooting.
- EMB-120 experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform as an aircraft maintenance technician.
- Prolonged periods of standing while working on an aircraft.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds at a time.
The following airframes fall under the purview of experience, but are by no means exhaustive: SA226/227, DHC-6, DHC-8, EMB120, ATR42/72, SAAB340, SAAB2000, DO328, King Air, Cessna Citations, and Lear. Additionally, should possess familiarity with the requirements of DCMA 8210 and AS9100.
