Production Specialist Job Description
The production Specialist is responsible for producing the various signage products we promote and sell. The production Specialist is a multi-tasker with a great attitude, strong work ethic and has great communication skills. This position requires someone who is very detail oriented, has strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to problem solve and pivot on projects as needed. This role consists of 70% Printing & Production / 20% Graphic Design / 10% Inventory & Maintenance.
The production specialist primary role is to maintain the workflow in the studio. The goal is to keep the machines running as much as possible and keep jobs moving through the system in a timely manner. As the production specialist you are in control of how orders move through the studio and it is your job to reach out if you need help or if unforeseen problems may arise, communication with the team is critical.
The production specialist is responsible for the setup, printing and production of graphics through the use of wide format printers, laminators and plotters. You are responsible for most of the workflow process from designing, proofing, revision, pre-press/outputting, production, quality control, and installation. You should have a very good understanding of all our software, including but not limited to: Illustrator, Photoshop, RIP, Cutter, Corebridge, etc. It is your responsibility to ensure all proper job files are saved in the appropriate location.
It is the production specialists job to organize the daily workflow schedule in each phase of the workflow process and to prioritize the jobs based on their deadlines. You are also responsible for making sure the appropriate time is spent on each job in each phase of the workflow. You are responsible for meeting deadlines for various print projects while continually communicating and conferring with the team on daily workflow and deadlines.
The machines (printers, plotters, cutters, laminators) are your responsibility to operate and to maintain. Your job is to make sure the machines are used correctly and efficiently while making sure that the proper steps are taken to maintain them. It is your job to ensure that each project is run at the according print and/or cut settings and speeds to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. You are responsible for ensuring there are proper supplies (inks, blades, media, etc.) on hand at all times.
The production specialist will always look for the most effective way to produce our products and look for ways to minimize errors and unnecessary waste. You will ensure that the production area is always clean and well-kept, proper materials are stored accordingly, and all inventory levels are well-maintained. You are also responsible for helping to maintain our brand image and ensure that we are always producing quality products. You will continually look for ways to improve our processes, to increase productivity and decrease waste.
Job duties include:
Capability to set-up daily workflow, organize/prioritize each day
Properly interpreting work orders and effectively process orders through the system, always working to ensure minimal errors
Spending appropriate time on each project
Strong understanding of design/output/workflow software (Illustrator, Photoshop, RIP/Cutter Software, Corebridge, etc.)
Ability to setup print ready graphics and output files to appropriate software/machines, on client provided files
Provide graphic design for signage, various displays and vehicle graphics, when the client requires design services and services are not outsourced
Provide proofs to clients for their jobs and make revisions when requested
Operation and maintenance of machines: printer(s), plotter(s), cutter, laminator
Maintain machine consumables inventory as needed (inks, blades, etc.)
Learn and reference product knowledge as needed with clients and when producing
Perform finishing methods on produced graphics and signage (weeding, mounting, laminating, cutting, etc.)
Inspect and ensure finished products are at an acceptable quality
Properly package/prepare finished products for delivery, shipping, or installation
Ability to problem solve and do basic troubleshooting on output machines/software
Document inventory of parts, products and other consumables as needed
Maintain a clean and organized production area o Inventory organized, labeled and accounted for
o Tools well kept, organized and in their proper place
o Floor clean
o Trash emptied
o Desk areas organized and clean
o Finished jobs packed up and made known that theyre ready for pickup/delivery

Use our order management system to manage and produce incoming work orders
Must be able to communicate effectively with the team about workflow and deadlines, and be forth coming whenever a problem might arise
Always looking for areas of improvement to better our workflow process

Be a team player, look for other ways to help out as time allows
Attend and take part in local franchise team meetings when required
Attend and take part in SpeedPro Home Office provided webinars, meetings and trainings
