Job Description

Job Summary:

·         The 2nd Shift Production Team Leader will provide leadership to employees and assist in overseeing the assigned area of production.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for Productivity, Training, & Quality on the production floor.

·         Coordinates and assigns operators work and job assignment for shift start-up and throughout the day.

·         Reports personnel issues on the shop floor to the Production Manager.

·         Trains operators on proper techniques to run machines effectively.

·         Required to perform daily quality rounds/complete layered process audit sheet.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Provides leadership to an assigned area of production.

·         Performs assigned tasks within the Business Unit including, but not limited to, Material handling, production control, scheduling, shop floor control, machine set-up / repairs, operator machine assignments, productivity, updating of daily production schedules, plant start-up / end of shift responsibilities, monitoring of material flow and work in progress to meet production schedules.

·         Responsible for ensuring that the Business Unit is operating to the Company's Quality Operating Systems.

·         Responsible training employees.

·         Ensures machines are running at the highest production rates possible.

·         Ensures a clean and safe work environment.

·         Monitors, collects, and analyzes scrap.

·         Ensures nonconforming materials are isolated, evaluated, and reworked.

·         Must promote Continuous Improvement and enforce all Company rules and policies.

 

Job Requirements:

·         Associate degree OR minimum 5 years related experience.

·         Demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action.

·         Experience with QS-9000 Standards.

·         Experience with Process Controls and Statistical Process Control.

·         Experience with Set-up and processing of tubular products.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and troubleshoot complex machinery.

·         Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate technical information clearly.

·         Keen attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in metal fabrication processes.

·         Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.

·         Consistent attendance and punctuality.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

·         Willingness to collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.

·         Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work conditions.

·         Adherence to safety protocols and commitment to creating a safe working environment.

·         Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
