Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

Do you love Excel and hate unexplained variances?  We might be a great fit for you!  We are a specialized insurance agency seeking a full-time Senior Accountant.  We are a specialized insurance agency seeking a full-time Senior Accountant in our Quincy, MA office. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Treasurer and will be involved in all aspects of the Accounting function.  You will be a great fit for the position if you are highly motivated, enjoy being involved in many different areas and take pride in the quality of your work.

What You'll Do:

• Coordinate the accurate and timely recording of all financial information including cash receipts and disbursement, AP and AR, payroll and benefits, journal entries and the general ledger.
• Perform timely month-end closes, including all necessary financial reconciliations.
• Compile and analyze monthly financial reporting packages.
• Works extensively with internal and external audit to ensure an effective control environment.
• Assist in preparing the annual operating budget.
• Support the Treasurer in preparing financial presentations.
• Ensure that the company’s financial processes are compliant with federal, state and local tax regulations.
• Remain current on new accounting regulations and relevant accounting issues.
• Lead and support ad hoc special projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar field.
• Experience: 3 – 7 years’ experience in accounting role.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft financial application products, specifically advanced formulas in Excel.
