The Opportunity

Direct Digital Holdings is seeking a Senior, Financial Reporting to join the team at our Headquarters location in Houston, Texas.

As Financial Reporting Senior, you will be responsible for assisting the Financial Reporting Manager in various areas of accounting including, but not limited to, external financial reporting, month end processes, monthly internal reporting, audit and review preparation, accounting/financial research, internal control testing, SOX compliance documentation, and other accounting functions.

This is a hybrid position working four days in the office and one flexible, remote day.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statement, Section 16 and other SEC filings utilizing Workiva Wdesk (reporting software), including schedules to support financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other disclosures. Manage the internal and external review for these documents.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining the SEC calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the following processes: financial close, internal control testing, BOD packages, press/earnings releases, and 10-Q/K.
  • Draft earnings release tables and validate front narratives in coordination with investor relations and financial planning teams.
  • Research new and proposed SEC rules and regulations and be able to assess preliminary impact.
  • Assist in managing requests and inquiries from external auditors.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures including preparation of accounting memos and SOX documentation.
  • Assist with performing research of identified reporting and accounting issues, prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner and advise management accordingly.
  • Assist with analysis required by any SEC regulations, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, including annual budgets and forecasting, as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited four-year university in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of accounting or finance experience is required. Public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Current possession of or working towards a CPA is preferred.
  • Experience with financial reporting software (Workiva Wdesk, Toppan Merrill, etc.) is preferred.
  • SOX and internal control experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Ability to research U.S. GAAP accounting and SEC literature and reach conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to act cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management, to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Ability to be coached and possess active listening skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage well through complex issues.
  • Possess exceptional analytical, quantitative, and social skills.
  • Ability to execute tasks, follow-through to completion and documentation.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications; experience with NetSuite, a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

Base salary plus annual bonus and benefits.
