Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership, plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates all aspects of Grand Lake Health System's financial operations including the management of accounting, financial reporting, decision support, and billing functions.
  • Oversees the Accounting Department, the Patient Accounts Department, and the GLPP Billing Department.
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial reports, cost reports to the government, tax returns, and other required financial reporting.
  • Responsible for the operating, FTE, and capital budget process including monitoring and reporting of Health System and departmental performance.
  • Manages rate revisions and revenue integrity.
  • Responsible for Internal Audits within areas of responsibility.
  • Manage monthly and annual closing processes including journal entries, report compilation, revenue, and expense analysis- ensuring ledgers comply with GAAP.
  • Manage the complete and accurate preparation of patient bills and statements.
  • Participate with the management team to analyze data and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform any other job duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel. Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office and multi-dimensional databases.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited school is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Experience
  • 5-10 Years of Finance and/or Accounting management experience.
  • Healthcare experience is a bonus.
