This individual will serve as the supervisor for an HSAO Child and Adolescent Program. In this position, they will supervise mental health professionals who are responsible for providing specialized service coordination services. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the service coordinators provide advocacy, assessment, outreach, linkage, and assist with the acquisition and coordination of resources and services for the identified client's in the program. Additionally, the supervisor will be responsible for the monitoring of service coordinator activities that build upon the client's strengths and support and maintain the client's path towards recovery in accordance with the SPA principles. The supervisor will be responsible for compliance with the billable and utilization requirements, reporting, CANS and survey completion and other program requirements per the county and CCBH. This position requires an individual with analytical skills and clinical knowledge. The work is complex and involves interaction with consumers, their families, and the community service providers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to interview potential new staff.
  • Provide daily supervision and ongoing training to Service Coordinators.
  • Prepare and review performance evaluations with Service Coordinators.
  • Conduct team meetings as requested.
  • Supervise planning and scheduling of day-to-day operations.
  • Supervise unit team leader and /or mentor
  • Utilize electronic health record in regards to program evaluation, statistics and data analysis in conjunction with staff supervision.
  • Ensure timely and accurate written documentation by Service Coordinators in their work with children, families, and community service providers.
  • Audit case files and billable hours per outside provider agencies (if applicable).
  • Monitor progress toward placement and completion of initial, re-waiver and discharge plans. (if applicable)
  • Monitor billable units and standards to assure accuracy for licensing and regulatory procedures.
  • Report unusual incidents, trends, and problems to the Executive Director and Unit Manager.
  • Track personal time hours and educational requirements for Service Coordinators
  • Resolve Personnel issues along with the Executive Director and Unit Manager.
  • Assist Executive Director with outcome reporting to the County and other system partners as requested.
  • Orientation and training of new hires in conjunction with the unit team leader
  • Attend in service and training as required.
  • Assist Executive Director in arranging for staff development and training programs.
  • Participate as a member of the internal management team that links the activities of the various units and provides for quality assurance within the agency.
  • Facilitate communication with the Executive Director and Unit Manager.
  • Maintain small active caseload on an as needed basis
  • Attend related conferences and seminars as requested.
  • Accomplish goals identified in Leadership plan as approved by the Executive Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Possess thorough knowledge of county wide continuum of care services
  • Have ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
  • Have knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision.
  • Have the ability to exercise judgment in interpreting and implementing programs and procedures.
  • Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with families, staff, and community providers.
  • Have ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Ability to be attentive to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision - to be self-directed in learning new skills.
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of diverse agencies, backgrounds, resources, and communities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess Act 33, Act 34 and FBI clearances
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Have current auto insurance that meets minimum collision coverage
  • Knowledge of guidelines and regulations of all levels of Service Coordination Services.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full-time position requiring 38.75 hours per week and rotate on-call.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A master's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, activity therapies, counseling or education and 3 years mental health direct care experience; or
  • A bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education or be a registered nurse and 5 years mental health direct care experience, 2 of which shall include supervisory experience; or
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 years mental health direct care experience.
