The Lead Production Supervisor will oversee all daily operations of the entire processing and packaging on the production floor, including the oversight of Production Supervisors and their teams. This position will support the night shifts. This person will direct the employees to ensure procedures are followed and drive the operation to maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. The schedule will be 8:00PM – 6:00AM, Monday through Friday, but is expected to flex to cover PTO for entire shifts. There may be a need to flex to Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday and times may vary based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all SOP’s and SSOPs to keep consistent product quality.
  • Utilizing productivity software to ensure accurate and timely production tracking.
  • Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations and effectively stay up to date on all Food Safety Management Plans and Safety Programs.
  • Support Supervisor in planning, organizing, directing, and running day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting on costs, methods, operations, quality, and quantity of production.
  • Ensures continuous improvement as a part of every operation and effectively implements it throughout the plant.
  • Supports production meetings and ensures operational documentation is understood and proper procedures are implemented.
  • Work with Training Specialists to support shift training and development, review training documentation, and ensure consistency of execution.
  • Support, audit, and validate completion of Master Sanitation Schedule tasks and Safety Chain reporting.
  • Audit inventory, inventory reconciliation, and product movement.
  • Maintain effective communication to lead and direct the Supervisors.
  • Cover any paid time off for Night Shift Production Supervisors.
  • Coach team members, complete disciplinary action, when necessary, conduct performance reviews and assist in interviewing and selecting new team members; assist and support soft skills training.
  • Understand all equipment and systems and ensure it is kept in pristine condition.
  • Manage inventory onsite at a high level of accuracy for raw materials and finished products.
  • Minimize and manage all waste points throughout the process.
  • Assists in the development and measuring of productivity in all areas of the operation.
  • Coordinates and confers with maintenance personnel on equipment repair to ensure continuous operation.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the company.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Four-year business-related college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant operations experience and five years of supervision / leadership and customer care experience.
  • Food/Snack industry experience and understanding of FDA, OSHA and SQF regulations.
  • Technical expertise or familiarity with industry standard equipment.
  • Computer program knowledge including Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to work a flex schedule.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management.
  • Team building, decision making, management and mentorship skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills. Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to navigate through complex and difficult managerial situations.
  • Proficient with developing business strategies, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
