Litigation Paralegal

We are seeking a Paralegal to become a part of our team to provide overall support to attorneys' needs related to insurance defense and plaintiff cases.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting pleadings, discovery requests, notices of non-parties/subpoenas, and authorizations
• Drafting e-mails and letters
• Summarizing medical records
• Organizing and analyzing documents and files; preparation of and maintaining logs for records, non-parties/witnesses, films, and medical expenses
• Trial preparation including: trial subpoenas, notebooks, witness lists, exhibit lists, expert lists, and coordinating scheduling of witnesses
• Expert witness retention; locating and scheduling doctors for CMEs
• Background research related to parties, non-parties, and witnesses

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paralegal, minimum 5 years
• Familiarity with legal research
• Familiarity with Florida court systems, circuit and federal
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to independently handle files from inception to trial

Skills:

• Excellent typing (60+ wpm), computer and analytical skills
• Florida e-filing system
• Word Perfect; Word; Excel
• Adobe (bates labeling, OCR, redaction, editing)
