Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist

Platt Richmond is seeking a Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist to assist in the day to day operations of the Firm’s accounting team. This position requires extreme attention to detail and accuracy as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines and adhere to compliance rules. This role is in the finance section and reports to the Head of Finance and will work closely with the Head of Firm Administration and the finance team members. Delivering high-quality services to internal and external clients is a priority.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Manage the Firm’s expense software and processes as well as verify and track expense reports
• Manage AP including facilitating payments of vendors which may include reviewing purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
• Review and approve timesheets for hourly employees in compliance with FLSA
• Process and manage payroll including reporting and resolving discrepancies
• Reconciling credit card and bank accounts
• Understanding the importance of strict confidentiality with sensitive information
• Assisting with operational functions required by a growth-oriented law firm

Requirements:

• High school diploma is required, some college is preferred
• 3+ years of payroll experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, spelling and grammar skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency

The normal business hours are 8:30 to 5:30, Monday through Friday but may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
