Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served.
- Develop and maintain standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating techniques in alignment with Maü's culinary standards and menu offerings.
- Manage inventory levels and ordering of food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment to meet operational needs while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food handling, cooking techniques, and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Monitor kitchen performance metrics, such as food cost percentage, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction scores, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with the executive chef and front-of-house management team to develop seasonal menus, special promotions, and culinary events that align with Maü's brand identity and customer preferences.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety guidelines set forth by local health authorities and company policies.
- Handle kitchen staffing needs, including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management, to maintain a motivated and skilled team.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and accountability among kitchen staff to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new culinary techniques, and innovative ingredients to continuously improve menu offerings and enhance the dining experience for guests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience as a kitchen manager or sous chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines, cooking techniques, and food presentation methods.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the culinary industry.
