Position Summary: Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance Manager will oversee and perform duties related to budget, accounts payable and accounts receivable. All positions with the organization report to the Executive Director when requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides financial information and coordinates appropriate communication with staff, Executive Director and Board of Commissioners
- Communicates with Administrative Manager to ensure accounts receivable and accounts payable functions run smoothly
- Oversees and takes responsibility for all financial procedures and records
- Responsible for all aspects of the budget
- Conducts periodic audits of budget items, including comparing per diem to actual expenses and other budget-to-actual comparisons
- Responsible for the various ledgers including accounts payable, accounts receivable, summary and journal entries to adjust the general ledger
- Assists with the District audited financial reports
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to align financial strategies with organizational objectives
- Commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in financial management practices
- Collaborates with the external bookkeeper to ensure the timely completion of the financial close process
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours when appropriate (board meeting preparation, emergency situations), to be determined by the Executive Director
- Must contribute to an office environment that is conducive of collaborative efforts and projects an appearance of a professional, friendly, and effective organization
- Performs all other duties as assigned, by Executive Director
- Must be able to take constructive criticism, understanding that the best interest of the organization is always a priority
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to create and manage corporate budgets
- Excellent managerial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites or related software as well as budget creation and analysis software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
- Proficient in Excel
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Required daily sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled, normal office environment work area
