We are currently seeking Heavy Civil Project Engineers responsible for providing support to the project staff, ensuring the project progresses on schedule and within the forecasted budget.

Summary:

This position is based out of Phoenix, AZ.  The Project Engineer has responsibility for coordination of technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates in conjunction with the Project Manager; monitors work for quality assurance and quality control, accepted engineering practices and standards, ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned project between all disciplines and all other project assignments. The Project Manager may delegate certain project management responsibilities to the Project Engineer, including day-to-day interaction with the Client's designated representative as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by TFC staff.

Roles, Duties & Responsibilities:

•         Project Controls including Document Control, RFI’s and Schedule Updates

•         Daily Subcontractor Management

•         Daily coordination with Superintendent and field crews

•         Project Schedules – Maintains project schedules current with input received from Project Superintendent and Project Manager.

•         Quantity Tracking & Verification including performing work takeoffs

•         Attends project pre-planning meetings.

•         Attends agency pre-construction conference, prepares, and distributes minutes of meeting to project team.

•         Attends agency weekly project meeting.

•         Prepares and processes force accounts and back charges.

•         Assists with the project close out; quantity take-offs, as-builts, and input job cost histories.

•         Attends monthly supervisory meeting and weekly project scheduling meetings.

•         Visits projects on a regular basis.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

•         Bachelor of Science Degree Preferred (and/or),

•         Minimum three (3) years of experience in related field (or)

•         Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications:

•         Proficiency using MS Project scheduling software, computer skills, MS Office, Bluebeam and On Center OST

•         The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

•         High energy level and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

•         Possesses a valid Driver’s License.

•         Ability to work long hours; weekend work, and out-of-town work and a willingness to assume a high level of responsibility.

•         Knowledgeable in construction equipment and governmental requirements.

•         Ability to work on multiple projects, adjusts quickly to shifting priorities, meets deadlines, exercises good judgment, and handles pressure situations with owners and other constituents.

•         Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.

•         Is open to change and can adjust to shifting priorities.

•         Water/Wastewater experience preferred.
