Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a valuable member of our healthcare team, providing essential clinical and administrative support. Your role is integral to the delivery of quality patient care, ensuring that medical procedures run smoothly and that patients have a positive experience during their visit. Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures.
  • Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, handing them instruments and supplies, as needed.
  • Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers and educate patients on medication usage.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including blood, urine, and other samples.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
  • Accurately document patient information, including medical history, vital signs, and medications in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals, ensuring efficient use of healthcare providers' time.
  • Greet and check-in patients, verify insurance information, and assist with the completion of necessary forms.
  • Assist with billing processes, including coding, insurance verification, and handling patient payments.
  • Answer and manage phone calls, taking messages, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Maintain and restock medical supplies, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of medical equipment.
Requirements:

Education:

  • Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution is required.

Certifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical assistant role, including clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require long periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
  • Good communication skills and emotional resilience to provide support to patients facing mental health challenges.

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for this position. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value of ARC Health’s benefits package, which includes, among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision, and retirement.
