About The Position

A key member of the finance team, the Finance Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day accounting functions. The Finance Coordinator ensures the accuracy and timeliness of vendor payments, tracking income deposits and outstanding accounts receivable and is responsible for ensuring accounting functions consistently follow SIFF's  policies, protocols, and workflows. The Finance Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Finance  and works closely with the finance, administration, human resources, and development teams.

Primary Supervision Responsibilities: None

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage weekly Accounts Payable cycle including gathering of mail, electronic and internal check requests to ensure accurate and timely payment of payables as well as ensure all expenditures are appropriately approved and GL coded  
  • Manage vendors including timely responses for any requests for payment status by staff or vendors, questions on payables process, gathering W-9/W-8 and year end 1099 process 
  • Weekly review and bi-monthly entry of Divvy employee credit cards, including keeping budgetary coding options up to date and acting as internal point of contact for staff
  • Manage online payment system, Bill to ensure resolution of any discrepancies and track outstanding accounts receivable for rentals
  • Entry of  AR from Elevent event ticketing system, Square POS and other systems 
  • Coordinate external reporting and tax filings with the city, state, and federal tax returns as needed 
  • Gathering data for reporting and entry of monthly AJEs including payroll, vacation accrual, cinema inventory, items to be added to depreciation schedule,  gift cards, outstanding development and sponsorship pledges and assist with reconciliation with other departments
  • Attend departmental, committee and staff meetings, engage in regular supervisory meetings 
  • Respond to emails, voicemails and other contact in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external SIFF stakeholders

Work Environment: This .6 FTE position will work onsite at SIFF Film Center (Seattle Center Campus) location at least one full day per week with up to the remaining .4 FTE possible as remote work.  Remote/in person responsibilities to be determined by the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact with customers and coworkers, sit or stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • 1+ years experience with QuickBooks
  • 1+ years experience with GDrive
  • Detail oriented and accurate with data entry
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity

Desired
  • 1+ years experience with Divvy or similar corporate card system
  • 1+ years experience in a nonprofit setting 
  • Experience improving processes and workflows
  • Appreciation for independent cinema
