DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The goals for the Director of Music Ministry will be:

To build and sustain the defined vision for worship.
To perform two liturgies as accompanist (organ or another instrument) to a cantor, or to the choir per Sunday or Holyday.
To direct the traditional choir at the 10:30 liturgy.
To develop a plan to expand the 10:30 choir membership.
To recruit, train, and sustain regular parish cantors for the 4:00 Vigil, and for the 10:30 Sunday Masses.
To play the organ (or arrange for organist) for funerals and weddings. Arrange for cantor and assist families with the music program for these liturgies.
To help increase regular attendance at all liturgies through the quality and scope of music.
To develop a children's choir and/or other youth choir.

This is a part-time position averaging 12 - 18 hours per week.
