POSITION: Full Time Certified Medical Assistant
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for support of the physician in providing quality medical care to patients. Duties include the preparation of exam rooms and assisting the physician with procedures; preparation of patients for exams/procedures; collection and maintenance of accurate, legible patient documents including patient history, triage, and handling of patient phone calls in compliance with state laws and regulations governing the legal scope of practice of medical assistants; cleaning and restocking of exam rooms; cleaning and sterilization of equipment; collection of specimens for analysis and/or biopsy. Upon clinician direction, the medical assistant is responsible for obtaining HMO referral authorizations when needed. The medical assistant is also required to maintain CME's, as required, and to participate in in-services.
Physical Requirements: Must be in good physical condition and able to withstand the stress of an active position. Medical Assistant must be able to perform many hours of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting. Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and adequate vision and hearing needed in daily work.

Registered Medical Assistant
CPR certified

Sufficient knowledge to assist in the following procedures: sigmoidoscopy, minor surgery, ear lavage, female bladder catheterization, electrocardiogram, Holter monitor, 24 hrb/p monitor, vision screening, dipstick urinalysis, and pulmonary function testing.
