Quality Engineer

Seeking a typical quality person (inspection, metrology, RCCM, ISO, etc.) - Candidates MUST have ISO experience - Salary $85-$100K 

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Salary: Salary plus bonus

Duration: PERM

Hours: 7:30am-4:30/5pm (8am production meeting every day) 

• Need someone who is going to fix problems, not looking for someone who is ONLY interested in audits/ paperwork and the compliance piece
• Has to have worked in an environment where compliance is understood, recertified in ISO 9001, industry specific certifications that require yearly audits
• Understands quality management systems - Receiving Inspection, Corrective Action Database, Voice of the Customer, Measurement system analysis, Document Control, Change Management, Risk Review, Material Review Board (non-conforming), Quality Hold, Audits, Management Review, Product Verification, Supplier Quality, Identification and traceability, Customer requirements, Data Management
• 15 elements in the quality management systems – Understanding practical applications that apply to Asahi
• Ability to solve problems and fix quality issues
• Implement quality management system
• Think of a Manufacturing guy with a quality background or someone in Quality who doesn’t only want to do paperwork
• Not looking for stereotypical quality person – Think ½ Quality/ Manufacturing
• Degree is preferred but not required
• Will be working with auditors, externally facing customers, internal sales team, need some polish
• Bonus 7-9% (paid out at an all-time high last year, record year) on target for 25% overall growth just based on Q1 numbers – Company is growing!

Summary of essential job functions

• Maintain the ISO 9001 QMS
• Act as the Management representative for all ISO activities
• Daily management of the Quality personnel
• Participate/Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain 3rd party registrations and standards; ISO, UL, NSF, ABS etc.
• Prepare monthly Quality Department metrics and continuous improvement goals.
• Manage corrective action response process both with vendors and internal processes.
• Manage and maintain calibration system for in house tools.
• Manage internal and external Non-Conformance material process and corrective action.
• Work to continuously improve organizational capabilities to achieve product and process quality.
• Act as Leader of Internal Audit Team and ensure audits are completed as required.
• Establish and maintain a system for identifying product’s standing in regards to government standards; RoHS, REACH, Prop-65, Conflict Minerals etc.
• Maintain records as required by the QMS and 3rd party and government entities.
• Participate in Safety Committee.
• Budgetary responsibilities for equipment and training as it pertains to the QC dept.

Required Skills:

• Extensive ISO and QMS experience
• Extensive internal or 3rd party auditing experience
• Experience with supplier collaboration and improvement
• Previous ERP or MRP experience
• Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration.
• Must have clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
• Must have effective leadership skills.
• Lean / Six Sigma experience a plus
• Strong strategic thinking skills.
• Strong metrology background as it pertains to mechanical and electrical measurements.
• Previous Quality management or Engineering in a manufacturing setting.
