Payroll Administrator

Job Description

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Process semi-monthly payroll for 2 companies, in multiple states, for 200+ employees

Ø Enter PTO requests and monitor PTO accrued balances

Ø Review, approve and process health insurance related vendor invoices

Ø Calculate 401k match

Ø Maintain Employee records

Ø Enter new hire information into the benefits platform and spearhead Open Enrollment

Ø Maintain up to date ACA information and applicability

Ø Month-end journal entries

Ø Assist employees by answering payroll related questions.

Ø Any tasks, or special projects directed by the President / CEO, CFO, or other corporate officers that contribute to the growth and success of the company.

Requirements:

  • Certified Payroll Professional
  • Minimum of 9 hours accounting related courses, degree required
  • 5+ years relevant experience

Competencies:

Ø Possesses and exhibits professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.

Ø Must have excellent courteous and professional telephone, oral and written communication skills to effectively speak with employees as well as office staff, at all levels.

Ø Strong analytical skills

Ø Meticulous attention to detail

Ø Excellent organizational skills

Ø Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Gmail.

Ø Experience in NetSuite Suitepeople is preferred

Ø Experience in dealing in extremely fast-paced environment

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to have full use of hands and arms and must be able to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The job of Payroll Administrator is classified exempt.
