Job Title: Medical Eligibility Specialist
Location: Remote
Schedule: 7, 12 hour shifts per two week pay period from 5:45pm-6am
*Training will take place on day and night shift
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:This position will work with IDN partners to manage the clinical evaluation and coordination of organ, eye, and tissue donation opportunities. Daily activities include collaboration with donor hospital staff, medical examiners, other referring partners, and essential stakeholders.
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:- Support the donation process by triaging the medical evaluation of vented organ referrals.
- Complete a thorough medical evaluation of tissue and eye referrals.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with hospital staff, related donation agencies, and other IDN team members to maximize donation.
- Serve as organizational expert regarding donor eligibility.
- Participate in process improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Associate in nursing or equivalent field experience required OR Certification as EMT, Paramedic, OR other related field OR Respiratory Therapist Certification OR equivalent work experience.
- Six months experience with organ, tissue or eye donation preferred.
- CTBS preferred
- Demonstrate ability to work with sensitive information and respond in a timely manner.
- Ability to review medical information and communicate efficiently across multiple channels.
- Ability to navigate multiple software systems, programs, and communication tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse audience.
- Requires the use of an IDN issued phone and physical ethernet cable connection from the wall of the home to the workstation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Maintain availability for communication 24/7/365.
- Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st and COVID vaccine upon required timeline.)
