Field Application Specialist
WWT International is looking to hire a full-time Field Application Specialist. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIELD APPLICATION SPECIALIST
As a Field Application Specialist, you will work on client rig sites in direct support of a WWT's product lines. You build positive working relationships, communicating effectively and efficiently with team members, customers, rig, and 3rd party personnel. Passionate about quality, you assist ensure that all service activities adhere to WWT's quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures. You get great satisfaction out of helping to provide technical solutions for the most challenging wells in the world!
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure full compliance with WWT's and customer's HSE policies in application duties.
- Be the onsite expert for all application and operational aspects of WWT products.
- Apply initiative and good judgement in decision making processes to meet/exceed customer performance objectives and service expectations.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, 3rd party, and all rig site personnel.
- Perform calculations to determine placement of WWT products within the well.
- Ensure all on-site activities occur in the most efficient manner.
- Report accurate well information, inventory, placement and billing information to the corporate office daily using FieldFX ticketing software.
- Assist with the development of end of well reports as requested.
- Be present for downhole trips when protectors are installed and removed
- Complete expense and other reports in a timely manner per WWT's policy.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIELD APPLICATION SPECIALIST
- High School Diploma or GED required. Some college/degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years, preferably 5+ years of experience working on a drilling rig in roles similar to derrickman, driller, or higher level.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with current industry safety policies and standards
- Ability and discipline to work independently and make decisions
- Advanced knowledge of drilling equipment, concepts, calculations, and methods
- Maintain professionalism and a strong work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of products and service
- Computer literacy
- Alert, agile, and able to improvise
- Ability to rig up typical tools used on a drilling rig and installation equipment, including but not limited to air impact wrench, slide hammer and torque wrench
- Math aptitude
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one
- Ability to travel both internationally and domestically up to 75% of the time
WORK SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
- WWT's nature of business is on a call out basis for oilfield services. There is no set rotation and individuals can expect to be in the field in excess of 30 days at a time.
- Be on call 24/7 while assigned to a job. Stay on-site to provide technical service to customers.
- Work long hours many types of physically demanding environments, including offshore applications, land applications, and harsh weather environments as applicable.
- Must be capable of climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, working from elevated platforms, and able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must pass industry standard medical physical/fit for duty certification.
