Summary Description

The Housekeeper/Facilities Supervisor reports to the Director of Facilities. This position supervises and trains housekeeping staff, including scheduling and assigning tasks, and ensures all rooms and common areas of the Center and other campus buildings are cleaned and maintained to high standards. In addition, this role will develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols and conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets established standards. The work may require flexible working hours that include evening and weekend responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the facilities staff and assign cleaning duties to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with staffing schedules, payroll, and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Oversee rooms, concourse, hallway, stairs, and restroom cleaning activities by staff and guests.
  • Provide training and orientation to new facilities staff, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
  • Perform cleaning duties when there is a staff shortage.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service for the Center to maintain customers' credibility by providing a consistent and satisfactory experience.
  • Develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols.
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Manage the inventory, place supply orders, and ensure team members have the equipment necessary to complete job assignments.
  • Supervise the cleaning of identified areas of the building outside the main Center.
  • Responsible for ensuring every team member is aware of and complies with any safety and sanitation policies.
  • Assist with furniture upkeep and arranging.
  • Recommend service improvements to the management.
  • Must continue training and education on MSD sheets or chemicals used by the facilities department.
  • Must remain alert and aware of safety regarding chemicals and machinery used for self and others.
  • Coordinate and participate in weekly departmental staff meetings to assign tasks and responsibilities based on the Center's events and needs.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.

Require skills and Experiences
  • High School or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of janitorial experience and 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
