Job Description

Overview:

Maintenance Planner plans, and schedules Line Maintenance using a MDR (Maintenance Due Report) to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance and the integrity of the flying schedule. The Planner ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of Global Crossing Airlines and the Maintenance Line Stations and business partner contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planner is responsible for reviewing Short, Mid and Long-Term reports and schedule maintenance for all routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Schedule work of time-controlled parts in a timely manner without disrupting supply availability.
  • Coordinate with Material Services and AOG (Buyer/Purchasing) to ensure required parts arrive to comply with scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
  • Verify parts needed to accomplish workload scheduled are in stock; request parts as required.
  • Plan and coordinate the allocation of daily workload for efficient use of staff, skill level, and space.
  • Interface/coordinate maintenance activates with SOC, MCC, and maintenance stations.
  • Monitor and update the 6 Mth Check calendar.
  • Audit completed work package data and paperwork to ensure all required checks are completed.
  • Schedule engineering documents (EOs, EAs, and FCDs)
  • Notify management immediately of discrepancies or any over flown FAA requirements/scheduled task.
  • Organize nightly work packages by aircraft to ensure completion of maintenance workload.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Sr. Manager of Maintenance Planning

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aircraft Maintenance Programs/Maintenance Program Documents (AMP/MPD), Airworthy Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Three (3) years of combined relevant work experience in any one of the following:
  • Aircraft Maintenance Planning, a position requiring an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate and/or in an aviation-related Engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, or related technical field
  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
  • Ten (10) years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or in a position requiring an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate in a Part 121 Air Carrier or MRO environment.
  • Proficiency in TRAX
  • Project Management experience particularly dealing with aircraft modifications, efficiency studies and cost deliverable projects.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
