Who you are:

ConXtech is seeking a professional Manufacturing Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to support global scaling of our systems. This position requires a well-rounded person interested in working on myriad technology projects. You are responsible for successful engineering and deployment of steel construction products, systems, and manufacturing equipment such as weld positioning fixtures, machining fixtures, and material handling devices through different phases of their lifecycle. You have experience designing metal parts and large mechanical assemblies as well as prototyping, validating, and releasing them to manufacturing. This person is a self-starter who thrives in an innovative, dynamic, and exciting environment.

You have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering / mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution, and / or applicable combination of work experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience designing mechanical products and systems used at scale.
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling and PDM software.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment working with mechanical assemblies, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience as an engineering lead on projects or teams.
  • Familiarity with cast and forged steel components.
  • Familiarity with close tolerance machined components / assemblies.
  • Understanding of Engineering Statistics and applications for manufacturing.
  • Experience working with Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) equipment, software, and assimilating data outputs.
  • Knowledge of welding standards and processes.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing projects and take a high degree of ownership of projects.
  • Familiarity with work prioritization that uses the Agile framework (Scrum).
  • Ability to travel internationally and work with international customers and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Language proficiency in Spanish and / or Mandarin, a plus!
What you’ll be doing:

As a Manufacturing Engineer for ConXtech, you’ll:
  • Focus on the following core areas:
    • Process design & improvements for manufacturing & quality assurance.
    • Oversee deployment & sustaining of satellite facilities.
    • Factory acceptance testing development for new & existing products.
    • Technical support for procuring designs.
  • Be part of the technology team to produce, validate, and execute technology initiatives in a variety of ConXtech processes including core products, manufacturing, fabrication, and erection of ConXtech modular structures.
  • Design, verify, and support key fabrication and manufacturing equipment, processes, and components.
  • Create manufacturable drawings, with full documentation for close-tolerance components and proficiency with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) guidelines and best practices.
  • Identify process gaps and suggest corresponding solutions to improve the teams’ efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Remotely diagnose manufacturing production issues and collaborate with relevant teams (including overseas suppliers) to provide scalable solutions.
  • Manage and plan product lifecycle testing.
  • Data management of all ConXtech key products, including proprietary fabrication equipment, inspection data, calibration data, and end-product QC data, etc.
  • Secure approvals of key stakeholders and formally release designs for manufacturing using Autodesk Vault.
  • Work with stakeholders to capture user feedback and other data to improve existing and new designs.
  • Further develop ConXtech’s quality control system for all proprietary equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written, while working effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company.
Where you’ll be working:

You’ll be working remotely from home with the occasional onsite meeting as needed at a satellite office or our company headquarters in Pleasanton. You will also visit domestic & international satellite facilities for project-specific requirements on manufacturing and fabrication operations. While this opportunity is remote, there are some restrictions to this opening and therefore we are looking for candidates in the following states: AZ, AR, CA, OK, or TX.
